I am trying to find out if this is my great grandfather. I have a death notice on Filomena Moffa. He died 5/25/45. I would like to find out if he came to America with anyone and when. Unfortunately I don't have any other info. Except my grandmothers maiden name was Moffa.

Does the record specifically say the deceased was a male?

Filomena is a woman's name; the male equivalent would be Filomeno.

I only have a religous card with the name and date of death. I assumed it was a mae because my mother had a male picture attached. I don't have any more info except my grandmothers maiden name was Moffa.

Go to www.castlegarden.org and put in Filomena Moffa. There are 6 listed so go thru their listings (click Moffa for each one) and sdee if you can identify her? Looks like RICCI may be the town of origin in Italy. =Peter=

Where did they live in US? Names of children, if any.

Did the religious card have a place of death?
