Domenic Morello

Post by SangueEFerro »

Looking for a Domenic Morello, emigrated from Sicily probably either in the 1880s or 1890s. I have no exact date (the decades even are just speculation), but I can give you more specific details on one of his sons, Anthony Morello. Anthony Morello, born 1903. Died 1999, Huntington, Long Island. Married to Eleanor Antoncich, a woman of Austro-Italian extraction.

Also, it may be Dominic. Any variation of Domenic.

Hello and welcome! :-)

We will help you search for records on Domenic (probably Domenico).

Where in the US did Domenico settle?
Did he have other children?
Name of his wife? Married in Italy or US?

Here is a possibility for a manifest...

Domenico Morello, 25, traveling with wife, Marta, 28. Both from Italy arriving NY 1892...

Actually there are several Domenico Morellos immigrating in the 1890's at this site...you may want to take a look...

I'm pretty sure he settled in New York. He was married, I have no inkling of what his wife's name was. He had nine children, including Anthony. Married in Italy, I think.

Sorry, I don't know much :?

Does your grandmother recall what Domenico's occupation was?

Did he live in Brooklyn?

Found this 1900 Census for Dominick Morello, born about 1877, with father Tony and mother Mary. Immigration was about 1891. they are living at Elizabeth St., New York City.

Looks like the Census taker has Dominick listed as a "daughter"...
and another child Anna listed as a son or S-in-L (son in law?) :-?
