Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni
Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni
Jim
I found a few more records:
1. Louisa Angiello 33 of Gabriele & Filomena Russo to Giovanni Ianniello 29. He was from Casagiove. The date was 27 Jun 1885. (I guess they liked us Ianniello's)
2. Alfredo b. 23 Jan 1887 of Pasquale and Giuseppa Adamo.
3. Antonio d. 18 Sep 1885 age 43 of Andrea
4. Concetta b. 3 Mar 1887 of Giuseppe and Magnicica Merenda
5. Teresa b. 8 Dec 1884 of Pasquale and Giuseppa Adamo (I sent you her matrimoni by email)(according to her marriage annotation, she married another Ianniello a few years later).
I noted what I could read. If you need additional translation, I can post them to the forum for some help. If you would like, I will email them anyway.

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni
Hi, Jim,
As you can probably guess, Concetta was my great-great-aunt, so it would be great if you could post her document here on the forum! She immigrated to the USA, but I don't know much of what became of her, except that I do know my great-grandfather carried a weapon when he escorted her in NYC.
I'm unfamiliar with the other names, except for from the marriage document you sent me, and that I think Alfredo may have immigrated to the USA, though I don't know of any relationship to my family.
I wonder if Louisa and Pasquale were siblings.

Here is Concetta's birth act.

Since Angiello doesn't seem to be a real common name in S.M., you may eventually find a link.

Great, Jim, thank you.
It looks like this one has a house number listed on via S. Sebastiano. Can someone translate (or tell me if I'm mistaken)?

I don't see a number. The word tre is the 3rd day of March.

I'm looking at the tenth and eleventh lines... "... nella casa posta in Via S. Sebastiano al numero ____"
I think it says settantasetti - 77.

Hi Jim
I found Angela Maria b. 20 Sep 1845 of Andrea 30 of Donato and Rachele di Bernardo of Antonio. It looks like she married Luigi Tavano on 17 Mar 1869 in S.M.
Here are some possible connections to my tree which I hope you may be able to confirm.
Andrea may be the brother of Domenico of Donato b. abt 1811 and married to Maria Graziano and father of Carmina & Giuseppe.
I also have Agostino Tavano b. abt 1848 of Andrea and Maria Giuseppa Papale and married to Raffaela Baldassarre on 8 Oct 1876 in S.M.
Maybe someone can confirm my translation and you can let me know if she fits in our common family tree.

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni
Hi, Jim,
How did you calculate an the 1811 birthdate for Domenico? Also, did you get the fact that Domenico's father was named Donato from Carmina's birth certificate? (Keep in mind I'm very green at this!) Unfortunately I can't verify Domenico's parentage other than that--all the information I have from that far back is from you!

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni
Yes, I believe all of the info about Domenico and Donato came from Carmina's birth act. I was hoping you might have that one thread of evidence to link them together.
I suspect that, short of finding Andrea's matrimoni record, I won't be able to make that connection until I start researching the early 1800's.

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni
Sorry, Jim. You are just way ahead of me in your research, and moving faster as well!
So, I realized that I misread something. We don't know the name of Andrea's mother or Domenico's mother, right? We only know they both had a father named Donato and were of ages consistent with their being siblings. So I guess we'd need to see both of their marriage records, or both of their birth records, or a combination. I would think you would have a reasonable possibility of coming across the marriage records based on the time period you seem to be researching.

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni
I also see in your earlier posts that Antonio (died 1885) had a father by the name of Andrea and was of an age consistent with being Angela Maria's brother.
I am going to use the working assumption that these folks are related (Antonio & Angela Maria being siblings; Domenico & Andrea being brothers) and add them to my tree later. I hope that isn't too uncouth.
