Carole Bienati a.k.a ELBA 1941-2010

It is with great sadness today that I have to tell you that one of our own is no longer with us. Carole Bienati, known here as "Elba" has passed away early last week suddenly and peacefully, most likely in her sleep.

Carole was my partner on the Gente website but she was also one of my closest and dearest friends - Many of you knew Carole and knew the special person she was - always ready to help a person in need or to jump into a new adventure. She was young at heart and a joy to work with. She touched the lives of many people and was not afraid to speak her mind but she had a heart of gold and was always ready to give a part of herself to someone less fortunate.

She will be greatly missed by many as she was very much loved and respected by all the people whose life she was a part of. This site and the people on it meant a lot to her and so I hope you will keep her and her family in your prayers.

Non mi sembra possibile che Carole non possa più rispondere alle richieste d'aiuto per le traduzioni, dopo le migliaia che ha, generosamente, sempre fatto... ma purtroppo questa è la realtà.
Una conoscenza "virtuale" ma una disponibilità verso gli altri, me compreso, che me la faceva sentire più vicina di quanto, ovviamente, non poteva essere.

I was very taken aback on hearing of ELBA's passing. I admired her ability to meet and greet people so openly that you could talk to a person and not a stranger. I admired her pluck and knowledge. She will be missed. R.I.P. Elba.

My priest told me the Mass I asked to be said for Carole will be said on Sunday 12th September at 11.30 a.m.
I know from the forums I will be the only one there but we can all be there in our thoughts, so if you can, please offer up a prayer for her at that time.
