I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm trying to find my grandfathers italian military records from Wrold war 1. He was from Messina. Does anyone know where to start? Is there a place to call or write? Any help would be great!

If you are talking about the city of messina, province of messina, Sicily
Write in Italian to the provincial records for Messina, NOT the city itself.
Military records are kept at the military district level, There fore Province of Messina. In the letter you should address the Office of Conscription Records (registri degli Uffici di Leva). Incluse everything you know about your grandfather to make the search easier for them.
