I am trying to trace my GGrandmother's family back in Italy. She had a sister Dominica Di Luzio who lived for a while in Frankfurt, Germany.
Dominica had a daughter, Mafalda, who eventually settled in Scotland with my GGrandmother, and I have her birth certificate.
Mafalda DiLuzia
The administration Des Stadtischen Hospital in Frankfurt, unmarried Musician Dominica di Luzia, Catholic, in residence in 4 Hainer Hoff, Frankfurt.
9th January 1911
Does anyone know if it possible to check the hospital records (the hospital still exists) or a census around this time that may give us more details of the family she stayed with. I believe Dominica lived less than 20 years after Mafalda's birth, however I don't know where she died but it is possibly German or thought to be Belgium.
We have encountered different spellings of the family surname on all the documents, Diluzio, Deluzio, Deluzia, Delucia.
I would be very grateful for any help. Best wishes.
