Info on Olimpia Cantone

Hello,

I am trying to build my family tree and have hit an early roadblock on my grandmothers side. Her name was Olimpia Sue Cantone. There seems to be no information on her parents. I know they are Amedeo Cantone and Concetta Maio but can't find anything on them. Any suggestions?

Here is the 1920 Census that Michael31 shows above...

Not sure if this is your Amedeo since wife's name is listed as Elizabeth, and she was born in France. They are boarders with the Leon Family.

Did her family immigrate? Do you have an approx. date?
Where did she live in US?

I agree with T concerning that 1920 census. I looked at it last night on Heritage Quest and also didn't feel it was the right family because of the Elizabeth. The surname on that census record on Heritage is indexed as Cantoni.There actually are quite a few people with the Amedeo name who come up on an Ellis Island search if you do a sound search of the surname Cantone. If he immigrated to this country, and wasn't married at the time, we would definitely need more information in order to determine which passenger was him. At least with Olimpia's year of birth, we might be able to estimate the years in which her parents were born and use that to help us narrow things down.

Thanks everyone for your help. I do not believe that those are them. As far as I know, Concetta did not come to the US. She was born and lived in Italy. They both were. Amedeo died on May 9, 1972. Other than that, I do not have any other dates.

I also tried to find them through my grandmother's, Olimpia, brother. His name was Antonio Cantone. Not sure when but I know he moved from Italy to Holland and had a daughter Mariella. Unfortunately, I cant find anything there either.

Just to clarify-you are saying that neither Amedeo or his wife Concetta ever came to the U.S. The 1972 is a date from Italian records?

did the daughter Olimpia ever come to the U.S. or did she also remain in Italy? if she came to the U.S., did she marry? what was her married name and where did she live?

Amedeo did come to visit. I am not sure about living here. It confuses me about the death record.
