Jan 27 1873 - Exempted because the brother Antonio is serving in the Navy Infantry Corps.

The most right column: Exempted because a brother is in the army
I cannot read the other handwritten column: Al Consiglio/per la xxxxx/va di avere/un fratello/xxxxxx

Re: Notation on Liste di Leva
As much as penmanship was emphatized (cant't spell this am) in school, reading some of this writing is a stinker.
Thank you for your efforts Livio.
By the way, he is the one who was serving in the military.
Question, how long did they serve. He married in Sep 1872 and was in the military end of 1872 early 1873. Had first child Sep 1874 in Castellammare di Stabia and second one Oct 1875 in Carlentini, Sircusa, Sicily. Looks like he only served about 1 year??? or, his wife traveled a lot where he went.
Forgot to add, there was not another child born until Apr 1879.

Re: Notation on Liste di Leva
I don't know I think that the duration was at least 2 years. Maybe if you get the Foglio Matricolare you will have an answer to your questions.lilbees wrote:

Re: Notation on Liste di Leva
Hi Livio, tried that but there is confusion since Antonio was born in Roccapiemonte but moved and was registered and drafted in Castellammare di Stabia. My search has bounced back and forth for the past year and a half with no answers. Neither of the Archives or the military districts in either the Naples area or Salerno area have not responded with anything.
Could be I am not addressing the issue properly.
