Posted: Wed Nov 2007 Post subject: Roccisano

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Searching for Roccisano's ~
rosaperry@msn.com

I was born Rosa Clorinda Roccisano in Rowan Private Hospital , Maylands , Adelaide, South Australia on the 7th October, 1956.

My father, Domenico Antonio Roccisano was born in San Nicola di Caulonia Calabria, Italy on April 30, 1932. He later immigrated to Australia in the mid 1940's and then married my mother Cornelia Johanna Kros in 1955.

I can't get any confirmation of the dates or time line to the information I have set out below:

My Grandfather, Rocco Roccisano married Maria Rosa Piscioneri (my grandmother) in Italy and they had 5 children. Antonietta, Franco, Maria, Domenico and Vincenzo.

I have been trying for many years to gain information but to no avail.

I would love any information at all.

Thank you so much
Rosa

Here are the Roccisanos who are still in Calabria. I couldn't find San Nicola di Caulonia, but there is a town called Caulonia. Maybe one of our Italian members can confirm that it is the same place.

I bookmarked that site. If Rosa wants family history info, would she contact the the comune of Caulonia?

She would contact the comune of Caulonia; records for frazioni are kept by their respective comunes.

Thank you...I can't believe how hard this is and how many Roccisano's there were. I am learning so much everyday, thank you to the wonderful people like yourselves in this forum. While my grandparents immigrated to Australia in late 40's their respective siblings went to the States. I never knew my grandparents or my aunties and uncles so it is a bit difficult to pin point dates. I have just learnt that my grandfather Rocco Roccisano was born in 1893 and Maria Rosa Piscioneri 28/02/1897 both in San Nicola di Caulonia. I will now furthur search through the sites above. Thanks Rosa

Just looking at the records above which I found quite interesting. When it mentions the pedigree - does that mean that persons parents - or is that the descendant?

Also, we have brothers Frank, Vincent and Giuseppe that were in the US - Massechussets. As far as I know, brother Domenico didn't go to the US, but his son Rocco did. Kerryn
