Seeking Domenic Anthony Palladeno/Palladino, born abt. 1854 and Maria Saggesse, daughter of Nicola and Elizabeth Longobardi born 1850, believed to be in Serre, Salerno.

Any clues to their parentage or emigration dates would be most welcome.

You do have an immigration date of 1893... was that just for Maria?

Is it Domenico's immigration you seek??

I did a family library catalogue search of Serre, Borgato Serre, and Elva (town nearby) and nothing comes up...

There are FHC volunteers who also help out at this forum, they could probably tell you more info.

Any relations to a ...?

Immigration date of 1893 for Maria Saggesse and Domenic Anthony Palladeno is actually a guess, based on the known immigration of their sons:

Antonio, born in Serre, Salerno, 26 October 1890 and immigrated New York Nov. 1893 ... and Nicholas Michael, b. Salerno, 24 May 1892 and immigrated Nov. 1893, both by their much-later naturalization documents.

Suspect later Nicola Saggesse (Boston arrival) is connected to Maria, but have no specific clues.

Most interested in births/parentage/marriage of Domenic Antony & Maria, likely in Serre environs.

Thanks for your response. I'm having a little difficulty navigating on this site, but have found a lot of help and support so far.

Suanj, you are wonderful!!!!!

Many, many thanks for immigration info on Maria Saggese Palladeno (and three previously unknown siblings!!!!!!)

Can you tell me where they left from, or where you got this data so I may pursue further?

Have been seeking resources in Serre, where family is believed to have originated, but so far, turn up blanks.

You have made my day and then some!!!

All best wishes,

In Serre are only an Palladino person living
http://www.paginebianche.it/pb/cerca?bt ... 3&cc=80020& and nobody Longobardi.... many regards, suanj

Still in search of this family!

Recently found new clues:

Giuseppe Palladino, b. abt. 1855, perhaps Serre, Salerno.

Married 12 February 1907 in Franklin, MA USA at age 52 to widow Mary Rose Mele Cieri

His parents: Luigi Palladino and Caterina Laugoria

Her parents:Antonio Mele and Laveria Lebore

Am hoping Giuseppe may be brother to previously-found Domenic Anthony Palladeno (b. abt. 1854) and thus these may be HIS parents as well.

Seeking immigration data, village of origin and confirmation of parents for both brothers.

Domenic Anthony's wife Maria Annunziata Saggese and five children came over 30 November 1893 (many thanks to suanj for relevant manifest!) Origin not stated.

Any help - as ever - greatly appreciated!
