Does anyone know the approximate wait time for an appointment with the L.A. consulate.

I did send an email to the L.A. consulate's office with regard to approximate waiting time for an appointment, but I would appreciate any feedback from others who have dealt with this office. I have several discrepancies in names on certificates (only for grandmother) and dates in both my grandfather's and grandmother's certificates, but I will address these issues later.

After reading some the horrendous scheduling delays on this forum with other consulates, I am one of the very fortunate ones. I called the scheduling service with the L.A. consulate to make an appointment for Italian citizenship through my grandfather. My appointment is set for April 12. I am nearly certain I will have all my consulate's documentation requirements in order by then.

Thank you all for your help along the way. I know I am not finished and there may be some unexpected hurdles, but I am grateful for your help.

I'm so nervous that something is going to go wrong. And I don't know if I'll be able to handle the year-long wait that everyone in LA seems to have to deal with.

After contacting the service to setup my appointment, I was told I would get a confirmation email; however, I never did. I believe my appointment is at 11:30a? What time is your appointment?

Mine is at 10:30am. We're back to back!

The researcher I hired to help me put together my application actually made the appointment for me, but he did forward me the confirmation email he received in my name. Maybe the confirmation went to a spam folder or something? The email I received it from is noreply@abtran.com.

They will resend emails on request . You don't need to show the email when you get there but you should call back and have them confirm

Since I never received an email confirmation, I will call the consulate's office tomorrow to confirm. Let's stay in touch.

I had my appointment last April 22, was told my petition was successful but have yet to receive a firm written confirmation or a letter about the passport.

I was told it would take 8 months. Still waiting.

I met with Raffaella Alsschuler. Very nice. Said my paperwork for me, my wife and my son was flawless. And my application was accepted. It would take about 8 months to get my passport letter depending upon the commune (Naro, Sicily).

A few weeks ago I called and was told by someone on the phone that it could take 1 to 3 years but I'm not buying that.

Wow. I am sorry about the wait after hearing such good news. I wonder if the office would consider expediting if you were in Italy or planning a trip to Italy?

Yes they would. She told me if we were looking for work, etc. they would expedite. At the time, we weren't planning it. But we went to Italy in October and may go again in April.

I may fedex a letter. They don't answer their e-mails and I can't get her on the phone.

So I just wait.

One person here did get their passport within 8 months, another in a year.

I e-mailed another person on another site and it took them 13 months.

But each case is different and so is the commune.
