LDS Library/comune organisation

Post by Apples »

When looking in the LDS Library I found the Comune of Capannori - listed with it are only 6 of its 40ish Frazioni.

Is this because the LDS have only recorded a small section of the comune?

This led me to wonder how the registration system is organised.

The place I am interested is not listed but it is also very small - would the villagers have gone to the comune to register? Or to the nearest larger frazioni?

Would the town hall have kept each Frazioni's information separate or as a whole comune?

Questions questions! :?

I'm inclined to agree with Livio.

From my experience, I have also found frazione info mixed in with the larger comune.
Researching surnames:
[In Teramo area] - Core / Fani / Venanzi / Secone / di Luca / Vannoni / Leteo / Bianchini / Cistola / Felicione / di Marco / Casalena / Romantini / Cintioli / di Francesco / Caponi / Foschi / Traini / d'Ascenzo / Ciare / Ciavattini

[In Campagna and Eboli] - Iorio / Adelizzi

What I understood about frazione is that it is like in Chicago there are Precincts all in the city and they have there alderman elected by the people in the Precinct but most records are kept by chicago which would be the comune.
