I am looking for anyone with information about the DeLorenzo family from Pieve di Cadore in the Belluno province of Italy. My Great-Grandmother is from there and I am trying to help my Grandmother trace her family back there.

My Great-Grandmother's name was Maria Delorenzo Sorte. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Also, just as a possibility...trevisan2 on this group has been to Valle and Pieve di Cadore and taken photographic images of the parish registers back into the 1500's and up to pretty recent. I would private message him and ask if he has your time frame.

He might be able to get you started.

My paternal great grand father was pietro de lorenzo and he emigrated to NYC from Pieve in 1897. He had a daughter ( my grand mother ) who in 1898 at 7 yrs of age emigrated to the US with her mother.

Have you uncovered any useful geneology sites dealing with Pieve or Cadore in general ?
