Hello,

I am looking for information about my grandparents, Agostino Misischia and Giuseppina Misischia (maiden name Moauro). They were from Poggio Sannita, Isernia. A. Misischia first arrived in the United States on March 23, 1905. He returned to Italy and married my grandmother. They both came to Canton, Ohio, US on January 20, 1920. I would like to find birth certificates and marriage certificate.
I would like to find other relatives in Italy and the States and any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you wish to find Misischia in the USA go to www.numberway.com where there are listings for 83. Just type inthe surname Misischia and nothing else and all 83 will show up. =Peter=

It is interesting to noe that in Italy there are no persons surnamed Misischia in Poggio Sannita but there are 6 persons surnamed Misischia in Agnone in Isernia province, Molise region which is the same province.

Go to www.paginebianche.it and put in Misischia int he first lione and IS ( for entire province) and click CERCA for the 6 listings who may very well be a branch of the family who migrated from Poggio S. to Agnone sometime in the past. I may have left an earlier message for you but I'm not sure if it took. Excuse me if this is redundant. I found it interesting that my great grandfather and grandfather were also born in Caccavone (now known as Poggio Sannita). I found a draft card from 1917 listing my great grandfather's place of residence in Canton, OH. I wonder if they knew each other. It would be very unlikely that they didn't. I hope you found what you were looking for!..

It is very likely they knew each other. My grandmother's maiden name was Moauro. She too was from Poggio Sannita. I wish had contacts in their hometown in order to search the family history. Do you know anyone there or know someone who might?
