What about the girls? Candela/DiMattia

Post by rmccray »

I’ve been waiting a while for a response from my commune letter so I thought I would look into what became of the girls.

I was wondering if anyone could help with more information on my GGGM Filippa Candela and Aunt Maria DiMattia. I have the birth certificate for Maria on Feb. 12, 1888, but I can’t find anything on her past that date. I found her name on the microfilm I ordered from the Gibellina commune. I had no idea my GGF had a little sister.

I don’t know how old Filippa was at the time of either child’s birth. I've been able find Candela family in the Gibellina commune, but I'm sure it's the right family.

I’m hoping that I’ll get some of this information from the commune letter. Fingers crossed! Until then, I was wondering if you guys could dig anything up.

Thanks again. :D
