Collesano's web site: http://www.comune.collesano.pa.it/

I am aware of only a single frazione of Collesano, called "Cammisini".

I assume you realize that chiesa is the Italian word for church and La Chiesa simply means, "The Church". In this case, La Chiesa may refer the area immediately surrounding one of the major churches of Collesano; http://www.sicilianexperience.com/histo ... &lingua=en

Keep in mind also that Palermo and environs suffered heavy damage during the Allied Invasion of WWII. Many comuni never fully rebuilt/recovered.

After I posted I found some info about a church in Collesano that led me to believe my friend's info was incomplete. Thanks so much for solving this mystery. Now I believe I can move forward and help her find at least a little info on her relatives. Thanks again Carmine.
