Thank you so much. Does it say what profession Giuesppe was?

Now that I have dates and names of some family members, How do I find out about siblings or children of Giuesppe Barone and Crocifissa Pollina?

Is there a letter that needs to be sent to Italy for a family group list or what is my next step?

Also it seems that at age of 43 is old for having a child. Is this common for 1865?

yes, they were farmers (contadino (masculine), contadina (feminine).

since you have their ages, work backwards and check the earlier birth records for their parents. you can also search marriage records after you find their parents names. it was fairly common for males to marry around 30 and females around 20 so that may help narrow down your search for the marriage records. many of my ancestors had children into their late 40's and early 50's.

Tom has the right idea work you way back from 1865 both Giuesppe Barone and Crocifissa Pollina were older so I think your best bet is to work from 1865 back from birth records I dont know if you have this reading info about reading Italain records its great info click on the prompt
http://familyhistory.byu.edu/Downloads/ ... ion_Guide/
Family certificates are a great thing but its alot of work for the town so alot of times you never recieve responce when asking for them. Its not in a registry book they have to compile it by looking for each record of birth of the family you want so its a great idea but.......
I would use the FHL films and as a last resort write for records. Its your hard work in the end pays off......

Thank you for the guide. I have one you sent me earlier. I find it helpful at times but sometime the doc are like reading "chicken Scratch"

I will keep on looking at films.
