Coppola is one of the most common surname in southern Italy and present today in all regions. You absolutely need more information (dates, names, places) before starting any research.
good luck!

It still doesn't help much ... unfortunately. Do you have an idea of which part of Italy did they come from? Better luck with your grandmother, because the name Panvini is rare and probably originating in Sicily: province of Enna, towns of Enna and Leonforte. Maybe your granpa came from the same town (did they marry in Italy or in Australia?)
Judt to understand the scope of your research, there are today 315 "Vincenzo Coppola" listed in the italian telephon directory!
Good luck!!

Obtaining documents on your grandparents may uncover the town of origin. Have you tried to obtain the immigration or naturalization records?
Obituaries and parish records may also list the exact place of birth, possibly their childrens birth records.
Talk to all family members......ask who, what, when and where.
Postcards, pictures and letters may contain clues as well........
the following website gives info on records and locations..........
