I just started researching family history. I am looking to find more info on the Coccoluto's out of Elena. I have little to go on...Father's name is Nicholas, Mother Filomena Albano. Daughter Regina born 1890 (immigrated in 1910)...brother's Cosmo and Joseph (and possibly more).
Also, the Tuccelli family, out of Elena. Father is Fillipo, Mother is Francesca Camillio. Kids, Antonio (1881), Anna, Maria, Assunta, and Mildred.
Looking for info for surname Coccoluto
Re: Looking for info for surname Coccoluto

I am looking for them in Italy. I have found what I know from US census records. They lived in Massachusettes. And came over from Elena.

from S. Elena, Padova? (Sant'Elena)... ???I am looking for them in Italy. I have found what I know from US census records. They lived in Massachusettes. And came over from Elena.
There is a ship's record for Regina... have you seen that one?
Looks like you've already done some research...
You should consider researching from the Family History film since you know the names of parents and the town...I am looking for them in Italy.
Just want to clarify the name of the town first...

I hope that this my reply is helpful for all descendants of italians emigrated from ELENA.
For some time, an italian Common was called ELENA.
This town is GAETA (Latina province/Lazio region), and especially the Gaeta old city.
-Here are all Coccoluto people living in Gaeta (ex ELENA)

-The Tuccelli

Hi There,
The Family History Center has microfilm for the town of Elena for Sant'Elena (Padova) to be exacted. The microfilm is very limited. It only goes from 1910-1871. However, you could get the Birth Act of your Regina and possibly the Marriage Act of her parents.
This is the link for the film numbers.

Now there are two towns with Gaeta as Suanj mentioned. Here is the link to see these two towns.

I hope this is of some help to you.

Re: Looking for info for surname Coccoluto
Hi Trish,
Sant'Elena/padova (are also other Sant'Elena) is not Elena; only ELENA word no Saint (Sant) Elena; Gaeta was called for an time (many years and just in emigration time ) Elena in honor of italian Queen Elena... this is italian story...In Italy, all words, have an meaning, and make an difference, so Sant'Elena is different from Elena.... really I think that the just town is Gaeta ex Elena.. hugs and kisses, suanj
