Cardellicchio,Botticella,Ruggiero, Accadia

Post by wintercrossing1 »

Hi, I am trying to help my husband's family find their great great grandparents from Accadia. The family immigrated between 1903-1913. I do know that their great grandfather was Paolo Cardellicchio, born 1860 who was married twice. First wife was Concetta Ruggiero....they had four children. She died soon after the last child in Accadia. He remarried Celeste Botticella, they had 3 children born in Accadia and two born in Bloomfield, Ct USA. Celeste's brother arrived on same ship as she did, he's Benvenuti, their parents were Gaetano Botticella and Carmella Maulucci :D :D . Where do I begin to find Paolo and Concetta's parents? And also how do I find info about Gaetano and Carmella and their parents? Thanks for any help. Gail Cardalico :)

There are a couple of ways you can go about finding the names of Paolo's and Concetta's parents :-)

The LDS (Mormon) Family History Center nearest you has available for rent the microfilmed civil records of Accadia, Foggia, Italy from 1809 - 1905. This includes births (nati), marriages (matrimoni) and deaths (morti).

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... di+Accadia+++

You will need to visit the center to order the films and when they come in (3-4 weeks) you must view them at the center.

OR

You can write directly to the comune of Accadia to request the birth and marriage records of Paolo and Concetta.

You will need to make your request in Italian.

Address:
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via Roma
71021 Accadia (FG)

I have Botticellas in my tree, too, Teresa. My great-grandmother was Maria Emmanuelle Botticella. She was married to Francesco Maglietta and later to Carlo Perlino. Her parents are allegedly Antonio Botticella and Mariantonia Rampino. I haven't found any documentation to substantiate this yet. I
