MICHAEL CHARLES CARDIO (CARRIONE)

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

MICHAEL CHARLES CARDIO (CARRIONE)

Post by andrea_luikart »

I am new to this site and need some help.

I am looking for some information on my great-great grandfather. This is what I know.

Michael Charles Cardio born April 26, 1864 in Italy (possibly from Potenza)

Arrived in the USA in 1867 (according to 1910 Federal Census)

Lived in Chicago until the time of the great fire.

Married April 2, 1885 to Christina Sophia Fulhendorf in Iowa.

Died May 14, 1919

According to his family his name was changed to Cardio.

His father's name is Guiseppe Carrione and his mother is Celestina

I'd like to verify if Carrione is his true surname.

I need help finding his immigration record and/or his naturalization record.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your time!

Can you tell who the parents or guardians were of those children on the ship records?

Thank you so much for researching and getting this information for me. I really appreciate your help.

I am new to Italian research, just starting out and can't really read the names in that style of handwriting.

The records, seems to reflect a story passed around my family, that states that my Michael Cardio aka Carrione came to USA when he was 7 years old.

Now I need to find His Naturalization records, any ideas on how to find them? Certainly, a child so young, would have to become a citizen of the United States.
