How do I edit a PDF file

I found Italian records at the family center today of possible ancestors, but the image is very poor. I need to some how lighten them up a bit. How do I make the images brighter? They're in PDF format.

You can try a free pdf to jpg converter (Google "convert pdf to jpg") and then manipulate the resulting jpg (or other image format) image.

hey carmine that's exactly what i did. i posted two documents in the translation section. do you mind helping me translate when you get a chance?
