Greetings from the U.S.A. My maternal g-grandparents were Vincenzo DiGiacinto and Rosa LaBarbera from Casteldaccia. Vincenzo was born May 17, 1870, and Rosa was born Sept. 17, 1873. Can someone direct me to a place through which I might order copies of birth certificates online? I have a friend who can write in Italian, even possibly in Sicilian dialect if necessary?
Molto grazie--
Timoteo

Hello, ricbru--
Thanks very much. I will see if my Italian-speaking friend will write a message for me.

The Family History Center has microfilm that you can order and rent for about $3.50 a roll. You can look up the Birth Act yourself of your ancestors.
Here is the microfilm numbers

Here is the link to find the nearest Family History Center.

I hope this helps.

Re: Birth certificates for Casteldaccia ancestors
Thank you, Trish. Yes, I see they have the dates I'm interested in, and there is a Family History Center right here in my town, but I can't read Italian. However, a friend in Ecuador translated my English message to the commune at Casteldaccia, and I sent an inquiry about the specific records I would like. I see from another thread about Casteldaccia records that the main records office in Palermo has a website:
http://wwwdb.archivi.beniculturali.it/S ... PALERMO%22
Does anyone know whether a request must be in Italian?
Molto grazie.
