Re: Agnone, Campobasso
There still are a load of Cacciavillani in Agnone (IS): This is the link to our yellowpages.
http://www.paginebianche.it/pb/persone? ... 3&cc=10700&
Despite, I didn't find out any CAMPEREFIOLE, but I guess you probably mispelled it.
Anyway, if you wanna have a look to the place, see here:

Good Luck, Peps

Re: Agnone, Campobasso
Thanks for the link to the Main Site. My Great Great Grandfather Alessandro Ginosa was born in Agnone in 1879 and came here in 1898.
I have traced his lines as far as possible using the Stato records, and now I must turn to the church. (Which from what people tell me is very difficult) I guess I am spoiled in many ways as the church in the town where my maternal grandmother came from (Carini, Sicily) is completely available back to 1527 with not a single gap. I would love to hire someone to try and trace the lines further through the church but am not sure who to contact.
Thanks again!
Jim

here you find, maybe, the most useful sites to start yr research.
the first:
http://www.regione.sicilia.it/TURISMO/W ... dex_it.asp
(write down CARINI on Search Home Page)
the second:
http://www.grifasi-sicilia.com/index.html
(web site FULL of history abt sicilian emigrants)
the third:
http://www.comuni-italiani.it/082/021/telefono.html
(have a look at "PARROCCHIE" and "NUMERI DEL COMUNE")
Is there anybody who can help you with translation?
If there's not, send me a copy of what you don't understand and I will translate (as long as my english allows it..).
Hope this helps you more.
Ciao, Alessia!

Re: Agnone, Campobasso
Hi Jim, yesterday I searched in Liste di leva Distretto di Isernia and in Birthregistries of Agnone, why I, again, help an friend in Phila.. the surname is very strange:Cricco and on ID card of ancestor are Castel........ Agnone, sure was molisan, but in nobody town with Castel.... in Molise are this surname... so is possible that is Greco or Grieco; frankly I think is Greco surname.. mistaken in Cricco( sometime) and Cricca also...JamesBianco wrote:Thank you both so much!! Re: Agnone, Campobasso
My grandfather was a son of Raffaelle Cacciavillani and Adelina. He and his 12 siblings resided in the Youngsstown area. I would be happy to share additional information, as well as finding out how they are related to people in Mass.
