Looking for records in Corleone

Post by jinx57 »

Looking for any record for Giovanna Catania born 16 May 1875, in Corleone? Had 2 sons, Simone DiMiceli, 18 Jun 1894 and Guiseppe DiMiceli, 5 Mar 1900. She came to the US on the Cretic in 1906. She was widowed and came to the US to marry Joseph Latino. Looking for any records for her and her sons. Thanks for any help.

May not be exactly what you are looking for, but here is the burial record from Church of San Martino in Corleone for Leoneluca DiMiceli, dated 16 May 1903.
It looks to me like he was age 35, son of deceased Simone and of Luisa Pomilla
Husband of Joanna(Giovanna) Catania

The record is in Latin, so I'm hoping our Latin experts will jump in to view it :-D

ALSO found in the burial records what appears to be the infant child of deceased Leoneluca and of Giovanna Catania...
Emmanuel DiMiceli, buried 6 Nov 1903, six months after the death of his father. :(
This would be a brother to Simone and Giuseppe.

As Marty referenced above, the Catholic Church records (for Parish of San Martino) are available online. I am not aware of civil registrations online, but someone else might know :-)

Here is the link to the Church of San Martino records...
