My Grandfather (Alfredo Zaino) came from Montefredane, Avellino, Campania, Italy. His parents are Antonio Zaino and Elisia Gnerre. His brothers are Carmine, Francesco & Giuseppe.
I would like to find more information about his parents and y other family members.
Thanks!

Re: Ancestor of Alfredo Zaino
Hello Jim
According to this manifest from February, 1899 arriving New York...
Brothers Carmine (age 23) and Alfredo (age 13) were going to join their brother Francesco in Oakland, NJ

Since records for Montefredane are not available online... your best bet is to go to your nearest LDS Family History Center to search the Civil Registrations (births, marriages, deaths) for the sibllings and their parents
The LDS has microfilmed records available to rent and view covering years 1809-1899.
Alfredo's year of birth seems to be about 1886, and Carmine about 1876.

Re: Ancestor of Alfredo Zaino
Thanks to all of you who posted. I have already found much of that information. I am sorry here that records from Montefredane are not available online.
Do you see any hope in the future that they will be?

Re: Ancestor of Alfredo Zaino
I don't know where you are located, but, if you are in Northern NJ, I have most of the Montefredane records on loan there until late November, early December! I've been researching family from that town also! Wish there were records available before 1809, but from what I understand, nothing!
