Hello, Is anyone familiar with the surname "Fiandrini". It was my great grandmothers maiden name. She came to the U.S. about 1909 and married my great grandfather Camillo Zucco (mentioned in earlier post) just a few months later. Looking for the origin of this name. Maybe then I can get more info. on her.

Re: The name "Fiandrini"
Hi Smiley,
Did you ever find a boat record?
Maybe you could provide us with her given name and a year of birth...
Do you think Camillo and your great grandmother came from the same town?

Re: The name "Fiandrini"
Hello, The info. I have the on Elvira from the Ellis Island site is that her place of residence was Abbateggio (not sure of spelling) Italy and that she came here in June of 1909. She was 19 years old at the time and she and Camillo where married in Gardenville, West seneca, New York in Sept. 16, 1909 which makes me wonder if they knew each other back in Italy. Unfortunately my grandfather didn't know much about his mother since she died January of 1919 during the "Influenza Epidemic".
Thank you,

The town is almost certainly Abbateggio, province of Pescara, region of Abruzzo. Knowing this, it should be a simple matter to write for a birth certificate (it doesn't seem that films for the relevant years are available in the LDS library).
There is other good stuff on the manifest (father Giovanni Fiandrini, sister Felice Cipriani (?)) that might be helpful. Also, the occupation listed (servant) is relatively unusual so there is probably a story there too.
Unfortunately, the surname Fiandrini is very uncommon and there are none living with that name in Abruzzo at all so be alert to minor variations (Fiandini, Fiondini, etc).
Good luck.
