I found this death record for my 3G grandfather. I see that the death was recorded on November 21, 1882, but there is a note on the bottom right with a different date. Using Babylon translator I came up with - Occurred on this day January 8, 1883. I'm not sure if verificato is being translated properly or how to interpret this. Is it saying that someone went back and verified his date of death (11/21/1882) on 1/8/1883? Or is it saying he actually died on 1/8/1883? And why would this happen?
Thanks!

1882 Death Record
Re: 1882 Death Record
The death actually occurred on Nov 20th 1882 (in the body of the record, it says "ieri" which is yesterday) at 9:20 P.M. The Nov 21st date is the filing date or recording date, as you say, in the town. The date you see at the bottom right indicates that the record was verified by a court or a judge on Jan 8, 1883. That maybe a date that a descendant-possibly a grandchild-had to verify the info in the record for an upcoming marriage.apersico wrote:I found this death record for my 3G grandfather.
