Dated Nov 23, 1882 at 1 P.M. in Caltanissetta-

Groom: Michel Scarfia, single, age 29, farmer born in San Cataldo but resident in Caltanissetta. He was the son of Michele Scarfia and Rosa Cagnina, both town residents.

Bride: Teresa Amico, single, age 16, spinner, born and resident in the town. Daughter of Salvatore Amico and Michela Dell'Aira, town residents.

Witnesses: Maria Dell'Utri, age 28, and Michela Nicoletta, age 40, both have the occupation volgare. The word means ordinary, but I'm not sure what it means in relation to an occupation. Maybe they were commoners, so to speak.

Marriage publications were made on Nov 12th and 19th. The bride had parental consent which had resulted in the request for the publications.

Only the town official signed below, as the others were illiterate.
