I would appreciate help with understanding this document and why & what 9.35 lire was paid. I have some ideas but the handwriting is a challenge for me to grasp an accurate meaning.

thanks,

I might be mistaken, but, looking at the image that you have posted here, to me, it looks very much like it is in “negative” form so that may be why it is difficult to read. If this image is taken from a film that you are viewing at a Centre or Library you should be able to switch from “negative” to “positive” by clicking on the appropriate toolbar. Going by memory the toolbar you need to click on shows two overlapping pages, one is dark background with white lines on it (negative) and the other is white background with black lines on it (positive).

I can read a few obvious words here like Carta (paper?) but not too many!!!

I'll be interested to learn what this is all about as well.

It is the last page of a document written in front of a Notary. It has the signatures and the detail of the amount due to the Notary.

Angela,
thanks for your thoughts. you are correct, the original film was shot in the negative. however, when reversing out, the positive image was more difficult to read....either way, it is a challenge.

Livio,
it was the last document of many in this allegati. notary was one of the few words i was able to decipher. thanks so much!
