NYC's Appeal on GF Delayed Birth Registration

Post by MiaCarelli »

I filed my papers this week in response to New York City's appeal of the Supreme Court Judge's Order for Vital Records to create a birth record for my GF (deceased). After researching the matter, I do not believe they have much of an argument, as they can only cite their own Rules, while the NYC Charter and Administrative Code say they must respond to a Judge's Order. However they seem determined to follow this through and even requested to argue the case in Court (rather than just submitting their own papers).

I believe it could take months to complete and will keep the forum posted. Personally, it looks good to me!
