Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Italian to argentina ?Need help

Post by antonio43 »

Hello, one day one of my italian ancestor has decided to go to Argentina, through the port of Buenos aires. Here are informations about her:

BOCHICCHIO Antonia-Maria, 64 anni, Vedova, DAMA DE CASA, CATOLICA

Port of embarkment : GENOVA , on the RIO AMAZONAS

Date of arrival: 06-07-1909

Non sa scriver e leggere

Travel compartment: Terza

I wanted to know if someone who live in Argentina, especially in BuenosAires or around, can find me his act of death (indeed i can't speak spanish, and to ask an act to the town of B-A, you had to know the exact date, that i don't have).
Please help me.

Hi, are you sure she went to Argentina? Why is the Amazonas River mentioned?

Maybe she stopped in Brazil.

Hi antonio the Bochicchio of Avigliano and Maschito actually are in Tres Arroyos - Buenos Aires, Argentina... and the surname become Bochiche and also Bochicio.... Antonio: sure Antonia Maria came in Argentina with or from some relative(some son?) if you know the married surname of Antonia Maria, perhaps is possible to find the residence place in Argentina for to obtain the death record... regards, suanj
