Part of my family is from Monte Marciano, Ancona, Marche. How would I locate a cemetary in that area? What are cemetaries called in Itlay? I am planning a trip to Italy and thought if I went to the cemetary, it might help locate older family members. Would it be typical for them to be buried in the same area/cemetary?
Thanks,
Trish

Re: cemetary
Cemetery = cimitero
If you do a google search of "cimitero di MonteMarciano" you will get some results. (MonteMarciano as one word)... the results are in Italian, but at least you will get a couple of names...
Also, some of the cemeteries in Italy are not like the American ones...from my town??... bones were dug up.... and room was made for others...
It wasn't till after WW2 that people paid a premium to have a permanent spot for family members...
Hope your town was different...
