Albert (?) Privitera, Sicily

Post by Luca1969 »

Hi,

I wonder if someone could help me identify this person. He was a soldier during WW1 living in Rochester, his card reads Albert Privertera, Cattana Italy. The relative notified of his death was his mother Concetta in Jara Cattana.

Now I believe that his last name was Privitera and he might be born in Catania on May 1st, 1891; I also believe that Jara could be Giarre, so he may be also born there.

Can someone verify if some Privitera was born in Giarre or Catania April/May 1891? I am almost positive his first name was not Alberto (Italian for Albert), rather Alfio or Alfonso.

Thank you for your help!

Luca

Hi. My grandfather was Alfio Privitera born in Cantana Sicily in about 1888 or 1893. He had a brother named Salvatore. He died 1977. His mother’s name was Maria. Perhaps this man is a cousin?
