family symbolism, help with decoding

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

family symbolism, help with decoding

Post by elmosgirl »

Hello Board Members,

Does anyone know of a professional researcher/qualified individual who might help with identifying symbols on a family banner/crest from Italy?

I'm looking for a resource in the States, preferably, but not limited to..................

I've read all posts on the Forum regarding Family Crests and, as a result, am very, very leery of even trying to find someone to do this for me.

Their credentials will have to be impeccable before I move on this project.

Nothing will be submitted to anyone before I'm sure of who it is. There's a lot of
suspicious activity on the Web regarding these so-called crests/coats of arms.

Anyone?

And, thank you.

I would start by asking the pastor at your local Catholic church. Italian families with coats of arms often gave special service to and/or performed important duties for the Vatican in some capacity.
