Will Italy Leave the European Union?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

I think the article is referring to Italy dropping the Euro currency (the Eurozone is the monetary union), not the wider European Union itself.

In any case, drastic change needs to be brought about before Italy becomes a province of Uganda. In my view, Italy needs a decade of hard right government in power to clean up the economic and social mess that the illegal immigrants have caused. It may even be too late to save the southern regions at this stage.

Actually, the signatures collected on the petition are to give Italians a vote on leaving the Eurozone entirely and not just to return to the Lira. It seems many Italians just don't like being dictated to by Brussels, myself included. I agree that a hard right government is needed and it's coming. The massive influx of illegal immigrants has already affected my personal living situation, along with that of many other Italians. It can't be allowed to continue unabated.

At this moment RAI SKY TG24 Primo Piano is running the following on-line poll:

Question: Migranti, bozza piano UE: rimpatri piu veloci e aiuti ai paesi d'origine. Sei d'accordo?

Translation: Migrants, EU must draft a plan to immediately repatriate these people and give aide to the countries of origin. Do you agree?

7% of the Italian people answered - NO
93% of the Italian people answered - YES

Clearly illegal migrants aren't wanted here nor are they wanted in the entire European Union as many member states have closed their borders and refused them entry, sending them back to Italy, which is now functioning as a dumping ground.

The M5S petition was to leave the monetary union, and not the European Union as a whole. The M5s has also explicitly said they do not wish to leave the European Union.

Center Right candidates who are anti-euro currency, anti-Eurozone and anti-immigration recently won big in regional elections all over the country from Venice to Sicily. Stay tuned.

SKY TG 24 Active is currently conducting the following on-line poll:

Grecia, Renzi: "Italia e fuori dalla linea del fuoco dei rischi di un eventuale default di Atene. Sei d'accordo?

Translation: Greece, Renzi: "Italy is out of the line of fire risk of an eventual default by Athens. Do you agree"?

The Italian people have responded as follows:

NO - 74%
Yes - 26%

In detail, Renzi said "We have embarked on a courageous path of structural reforms, the economy is returning to growth, and the ECB's umbrella shelters us".

Seems like a very subjective statement. What is exactly meant by line of fire? Technically, all of Europe will be effected if Greece leaves the EMU. It all depends to what degree, however. Will Italy be thrown into chaos if Greece leave the EMU? The answer is no. Yes, Italy has its own problems to deal with; but the only thing a Grexit would do is serve as a sort of precedent for other countries wanting to revert back to their own currency so that they can completely control their monetary policy.

Italy is readying new airline flights to Mykonos and Corfu from it's airport in Pescara on the Adriatic Coast. Apparently Italy already knows, or has a good idea, that Greece will be returning to Drachmas, afterwhich Italy will no doubt return to the Lira. Arrividerci Eurozone -- and possibly European Union after that.

SKY TG24 eventi is conducting an on-line poll at this hour with the following question:

Referendum in Grecia: risultati parziali: NO in vantaggio. Hanno fatto bene I greci?

Translation: Greek referendum partial results: NO ahead. Have the Greeks done well?

The Italian people responded as follows:

NO: 26%
YES: 74%

Italians are clearly in solidarity with the Greeks in favor of no EU bailout.
