Great, thanks, Tessa!

And again, thanks Marty for finding this, the birth place of Rapallo has special meaning to us, and it is wonderful to see it confirmed! :)

It was really late and it happened by chance that I found her name and the short version of her marriage record, stating Antonio and "Maggeorino Gelortto"as mother!
I looked up Gelortto as a name (on gens.info, they have a name map), didn't pop up. So I dared believe it's Maggiorina Gelvitto! I ordered the marriage certificate just to be sure, but all the dates and places fit well enough.

Then I found this Luisa's naturalization record, same wedding date, etc! She is from just around the area my Antonio and Maggiorina where living (moving a lot):

Birth 13 August 1894 in Coreglia, Liguria!

* Happy* :)
Yes, she was born on 13 August 1894 in Coreglia :-)
Presented on 17 August.
Father: Antonio [of Andrea], 30, mason
Mother: Maggiorina Gelvitto, his wife.
Child named LUIGIA

Awesome, thank you!!
Antonio di Andrea, beautiful :)

I saw that on the naturalization record, they noted that she came to the United States as Luigia Bazzurro. It looks like she changed her name to Luisa very quickly, on her marriage record from 1919 she turns up as Luisa already!

Happens more than you might imagine! Makes finding them more of a challenge sometimes. :-)

BTW - I also posted a response to your inquiry about Angelo's day of birth (above)

@ Tessa

Yes I responded to your response about Angelo, thank you for clearing it up!!
I so need to learn Italian, at least the numbers :)
Btw, I bought that Italian genealogy book you recommened! Wonderfully dense information right in the introduction, can't wait to read more :)

It looks like having been a foundling back then must have been especially challenging in Italy, because the family ties were so strong and important (explained in the introduction). This is regarding Maggiorina Gelvitto Bazzurro: It looks to me like she got to know Antonio Bazzurro in the city of Genoa (they went back to his home town to marry, but residence was Genoa for both).
A big city was perhaps the only place a person "without name"could feel halfway at peace with their environment. In a small town everyone would know she is a stranger and has no ties...
And still she managed to become a school teacher!

Is there a reason why you are looking for records from San Colombano Certenoli?

Just a suggestion: It might be best if you keep to the other thread that you have started for “Monteverde Family”.
Angela:-)
Sorry, Angela, I overlooked your reply here!
Yes there is a reason, a passenger list from 1900 (which corrsponds better with information from the US censuses about when he immigrated) states his last place of residence as "Cichero". That's part of San Colombano Certenoli.
No problems. Thank you so much for coming back to the forum to explain. Much appreciated. Looks like you are making fantastic progress here. Keep going with with it.

Marty
I finally found one of Maria DeMartini's brothers! (Son of Giovanni and Rosa DeMartini as seen above).

Giuseppe DeMartini, he was presented on the 4th of December 1892. but I can't tell what the day of birth is. Looks like ferimo to me?.... it says "corrente mese" though, so it can only be the first, second, or third?

Please lend me your eyes :)
