Help Please with translation of birth certificate
I believe these are copies of my grandfather Guiseppe Spina birth certificate. I would like to know what his parents names are and any other information that will help me in my search. Thank you!

Re: Help Please with translation of birth certificate
Hi and welcome
Pages 1 and 2 contain the birth record of
Giuseppe Spina, son of Nicolò Spina and his wife Agnese Piccione, born in Poggioreale August 13 1887, in the (family) house in via Iura (?) The birth was declared August 14 by the midwife
Witnesses Giuseppe Spina 54 (the grandfather?) and Pietro Scardino 65, both "civili" = well-to-do
Ciao
Paola

Re: Help Please with translation of birth certificate
Page 4 is a birth record for someone who appears to be Giuseppe's older brother Rosario Spina, born 7 Sep 1884. (I say "appears to be" because it is difficult to make out the mother's given name.) Nicolo' Spina was 27 at that time, so born around 1857.

I know that this is a surname in the town but I can't find the actual address. It may not be there any more. This is all for now. I'll have another look at age 5 later. Maybe someone who knows the town will be able to work out the names, meantime.

Re Page 5: Now that I am completely awake, I read under the name Cecilia Amargo, the word Projetto which means "foundling". Where the parents names should be it says "father and mother unknown". So this little girl, sadly, was abandoned at the foundling wheel.

Re: Help Please with translation of birth certificate
Now this is a mystery as to why Cecilia Amargo's (page 5) birth certificate was here with the our papers. Are their any dates on page 5 or any other connection between the other pages?

Re: Help Please with translation of birth certificate
I have attached pages 8 & 9 for translation.
I have in my possession a total of 10 pages, however site limitations will not let me attach page 10. Is there any other way to attach page 10 for translation?

Re: Help Please with translation of birth certificate
Don't worry about this record (Record No 110). I don't think it actually relates to you. What relates to you is the section at the top which is the rest of Record No 109: Rosario Spina, which starts on Page 4, which Carubia looked at for you.Mari Mabus wrote:Now this is a mystery as to why Cecilia Amargo's (page 5) birth certificate was here with the our papers.
