Davidese - Davarese - Daverese Family

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Can you provide more information? What are some of the first names and estimated birth years of your relatives? Where did they immigrate to? I am attaching a link for some Davidese's.

Hope it helps!

Well Annunziato Davidese immigrated in the late 1800's, Im mainly looking back in Italy before that, the info in America I have. He married a Filomena Piano who was not born in the same town of Magliano.

Hi:

- Filomena PIANO came in Oct 07, 1897 with the sons: Angelomaria age 7 and Alfonso age 5, coming from Magliano and joining husband/father Annunziato DAVIDESE in New York;

-Annunziato was already been in USA in 1891:

Annunziato Davidese Occupation Peasant
Age 25
Sex M
Literacy U
Arrived 25 May 1891
Origin Italy
Port Naples
Last Residence U
Destination USA
Plan Unknown
Ship Massilia
Passage Unknown

- Annunziato came in USA in May 13, 1895 and coming from also Magliano(Magliano Vetere); was in travel with Carmine BONFRISCO and Giuseppe CORCILLO also from same town.

-In Jun 14, 1902, Filomena PIANO with the children: Angelina, Alfonso, Antonio and Costantina Davidese, again in travel and joining the Nunziato Davidese head family

-In May 14, 1910, Alfonso Davidese age 18son of Annunziato again in travel from Italy to USA with the siblings born in USA: Costantina sister and the little brother Vito and joining the father Nunziato(Annunziato); the writing on the ship's manifest no very well, but for that i can understand, Alfonso declared that was already in USA until to 1907; the contact in Italy was the uncle Domenico GALASSO ..
The surname spelling on the ship's manifest is DAVIDESE, and personally I think that in Italy was only your ancestor with this surname, but the spelling is exact.... however no problems for you for to obtain the civil records.

As Suanj stated, you can apply for the certificate and know all there is to know......

The Comune keeps records of birth, marriage and death. It is also possible to obtain records on the composition of each family, beginning from 1869. The certificate, issued by the Ufficio Anagrafe (Vital Statistics Office) of the Comune, is called "certificato di stato di famiglia" and it contains names, relationships, birth dates and birthplaces of all family members at living at the time the information was recorded.
