Vincenzo De Cesare and Rosina Celestefeste

Post by Berean50 »

Hi,

I am looking for a Vincenzo De Cesare who was married to Rose Emma Patenaude on the 18th of Sep. 1899 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Emma was born on the 7th of March, 1878 in St-Joseph de Chambly, Quebec. Her father and mother were Étienne Patenaude and Sévérine Duplessis. Vincenzo apparently went to Canada from Casacalenda in and around the 1890's with Luigi Covatta. It is said that Luigi's cousin was supposed to go but for some reason he gave Luigi his ticket to go onto the ship. I am looking for the ship's name as well and I believe the point of origin would be Napoli. Vincenzo's father was Francesco and his mother was Rosina Celestefeste. Date of births and marriage are unkown for both these people.

Thank you for any leads or help.

Here is the possible birth act (number 244) of Vincenzo Di Cesare son of Francesco and Rosina Iasenzaniro. Celeste Festa was the mother of Rosina.

Thank you both for this information. It is very much appreciated. Can you tell me where I could find ship manifests where I believe that Vincenzo departed Italy for Canada? Was Napoli the port where most of italians left to go to America?

Hello Marty, I am new to this site and to genealogy research. I found this information you posted a while back that would be helpful in my search, but the links seem to be broken. Do you have any idea how to restore them or where I could find the information they contained? Thank you!
