5 Church documents needing Translation

Post by rp76226 »

The following link has 9 church documents, of which, i need help on translating the five documents titled with Puma that are not indexes. Each is a two page spread, but a pen or finger marks the record that should be the Puma document needing translation. The records appear to be brief.

I believe the second record for Giovanni Puma-reads that he was born heri not hodie (so born yesterday on March 2nd). I believe Carmelo in the next record was also born yesterday-so on the 23rd. The word hodie for same day clearly appears in records on the right page

Thanks, Livio. Quite frankly, I don't see the surname Puma in Diana's baptism record. These records are extremely difficult and you did a great job in deciphering them.

Thank you very much for your help. Those records are hard to read. The first two records are my family and further validate what I knew. The fourth record - the baptism of Diana - if the mother's name, which was unreadable, is Angela (di Nolfo), then Diana would be a new member found for my family. On the last record, can you tell if that is a marriage record or a marriage bann? I do have a 20 August 20, 1618 marriage record for Giovanni Antonio Puma, son of Antonino Puma and Angela (di Nolfo) marrying Giovanna di Stefano, daughter of Francesco and deceased Elisabetta.

The last record is unreadable to me as it is Diana's mother's name. I'm sorry!
Erudita, the surname "dipuma" is on the second line of Diana's record. At least this is what I read.

Yes, Livio, I was just posting the following but you beat me.

I can now read di Puma in Diana's record and believe the mother is Angela, but her maiden name is not given in the record.

In the last record, I do see Antonino and Angela as the parents, but I don't see the bride's info at all-I can't even find her name. I think that is a baptism record and not a marriage record.
