First name - Londo?
First name - Londo?
Hi, I came across some pictures of my ancestors. My Great-Grandmother's brother was Londo Avellino. Is Londo a common Italian name? It sounds like it could be a nickname or Americanization of some sort.
Re: First name - Londo?
If your Great-Grandmother's brother was living in the U.S., it could be a nickname for Orlando.
However, if he was living in Italy, I have no idea if this would be a possible nickname.

My father's name was Orlando. His nickname was Lando. My grandparents on both sides were born in Italy. It's possible his name was Orlando.
