Dated May 8, 1829 at 2 P.M. in Catanzaro
Appearing was the declarant, midwife, Francesca Sacco, age 57. She reported that, on the 7th, at 2 in the night, in the house on Contrada il Carmine, Barbara Iannaco*, age 19, wife of Francesco Ruga, 24, gave birth to a male infant being named Giuseppe Ruga. Witnesses produced by the declarant were Salvatore Familgiano and Rocco Vitaliano. The document was signed only by the town official, as the midwife and the two witnesses did not know how to write.

Giuseppe Ruga was baptized in the parish of S. Maria de Cataro (in the record it's de, but the parish name has di in it).

*Iannaco is the spelling of Barbara's surname in this record. In the marriage record, which I haven't translated yet, it is spelled Iannoccari, not the spelling which you have posted. The surname Iannoccari is found in Catanzaro.

You're welcome once again, Gary. BTW, I had a cortisone shot in my left shoulder yesterday and can barely move right now, so I can't sit at the computer for long periods of time. The marriage record is extremely long. I've made handwritten notes, but will try to type the info later for you, if someone doesn't do it first. Have to get off of the computer for a while.
