Birth date help

Post by wjamflan »

Hi all.

I'm relatively new to Italian research and I'm having trouble figuring out the birth date of the wife of my 1st cousin 4X removed. Can someone help?

Sanza birth record:

I can see that the birth looks like it was reported 21 Aug 1884. Does it say that the birth occurred on "ventinove dello spirante mese"? If so, does that mean that she was born 29 Jul 1884? Something else?

Does "dello spirante mese" translate to last month? The online translators give me things like "the expiring month" or "the carving of the month", but they don't make sense in context. Please help.

While I'm at it, is there a reliable online translator that people here like?

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Bill

no the right birthdate is 29 Aug 1884 and the Birth was recorded on 31 aug 1884 no on 21 aug 1884... "spirante", aka expiring, at month's end.. and in effects the day 31 is the last day ...
