Passenger Arrivals in Italy

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Passenger Arrivals in Italy

Post by nfanuele »

Hi

I am attempting to find out when my great-grandfather travelled back to Italy during the 1920s & 1930s. I know the United States didn't keep records of people leaving the country, so I'm wondering if Italy (more specifically the port of Naples) kept track of who entered the country. If so, how can I find these arrival lists?

Thanks

As far as I know, there are no such lists. :-(

If the relative came back to the USA check the USA passenger list and see if they listed the other dates that he entered the USA. Also look at where his last place was in Italy and who he went to see or who he is coming to see in the USA

No such passenger lists back to Italy, as indicated by Pippo, but some Italian towns kept dates of when their residents left and returned to their towns, so you may want to check with the native Italian town.
