Is the occupation for Luigi D'Alesandro: property owner?

Yes, it is Possidente, so landowner/property owner.

BTW: Does the forum look strange at your end? It's not working right for me. I can't view it clearly because there are all these little horizontal lines over the letters.

Angela,

When I opened this website about four hours ago, I had small circles covering the web page. I never saw this before; about a hour later, the circles were gone, and i was able to post the question about Giuseppe's occupation.

Thanks, John. It sounds similar then. I have horizontal lines within circles. It has been like this since 7 pm yesterday, possibly longer. Sometimes the circles are red, sometimes blue. Also where it says "Quick Links" the drop box stays down all the time so I can't read what I am typing. There are also three drop boxes in the other three corners that won't go away unless I click on them, but then they return. I think that maintenance work had been performed earlier, so maybe some things still need to be fine-tuned. If it carries on I'll send Edmondo a message, in case he doesn't know.

Angela,

Forgot to mention, I did the following before i tried to open this website the second time:

1. Cleared recent history
2. Opened my CCleaner and ran "run cleaner"
3. Restarted my computer

Then I did not have any problem viewing this website (all the small circles---gone).

Angela, do you have a maintenance program such as CCleaner, which is free, or System Mechanic, which is not free?

Thanks, John. It's back to normal now. After reading your suggestion here, I cleared a lot of today's history, so I'm not sure whether that's what's done the trick or not. Then in "history" I went back to the last time that I accessed IG "normally" and clicked on that, and it's brought me here and it is working fine. I took some pics of what it was looking like etc when it was "unhealthy" - my son's a software engineer, so I'll show them to him and he might be able to shine a light. Anyways, thank you again for sharing what worked for you. It would be interesting to know whether anyone else has had the same problem today.

No, I don't have a CCleaner. I don't usually have problems with my computer but I'll talk to my son about that as well. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing" where computers are concerned - and I have a "little knowledge"! :)

I'm glad I saw this thread, as yesterday, when the site came back up after maintenance, I had circles with horizontal lines through them. I emailed Edmondo and he's been working on the issue, but after seeing what John wrote, we went into firefox and just cleared the history there, and now it's working. I didn't have an issue accessing the forum from Explorer. I've let Edmondo know.

Angela,

You need CCleaner to keep your computer working properly; your son, I am 100% sure, will tell you to install it. You do not need CCleaner Pro, the paid version. In addition, you need Malwarebytes, an anti-malware program, the free version. Talk to you son about this. Better still, have him install these programs and show you how to use them.

John, thanks for the tips. I shall talk to my son, the computer whizz kid, about these matters, and see what he recommends. When I bought the computer about three years ago he set everything up for me and I do have regular updates and virus checks. He may have installed these other things on the computer for me. Anyways, if anything else needs to be installed I'll get him to do it.

Erudita, glad you got your circles and lines sorted as well, and thanks for letting Edmondo know. I use Chrome and very rarely Explorer. I didn't even think to try Explorer. I'll remember that if it happens again.

Angela,

Since your rarely use Internet Explorer, why not turn it off? Your computer will run faster. I only use Firefox, so I turned off (did not uninstall) my Internet Explorer about three months ago. Ask you son about turning off your Explorer. Let me know what he said.
