I have Bova, Russo, Sansone and Mantia, all from Termini-Imerese in my family tree.

I trace back to about the 1780's.

See "Pannozzi" family tree over at ancestry.com

Also see pictures of Russo and Mantia people that I submitted at Laura's Termini-Imerese web site.

My grandmother was Providenza "Lucy" Russo Lamantia, born in Kansas City (1888-1933) but eventually settled in Providence, Rhode Island. Her parents, Fillipo Russo (1857-1929) and Carmella Corso Russo (1851-1940) came to St. Louis around 1885 from Termini-Imerese, later moving to Kansas City, Hartford, Conn. and finally settling in Providence, Rhode Island where they sold vegetables/fruit on pushcart row on Atwells AVe.

There other two children both became vaudeville performers - Salvatore James Russo (1884-1949) was a dancer and Leo Russo (1892-1957) was a puppeteer. I met Leo when i was about 7 in 1955 and he said that his ancestors were famous performers for the King of Sicily, but he had to catch a train to Boston for his next show before I could learn anything more, and I have wondered ever since about that !

Since most of the Termini Imerese records are intermingled in the Villaurea collection, a better starting point would be with the "road map" here: https://familysearch.org/wiki/en/Italy, ... e_Road_Map

The tables for Births, Marriages, Marriage Attachments and Deaths provide links to key points within the record base for each year.

P.S. One of my family lines traces back to Maria Balsamo (born 1857), daughter of Antonino Balsamo (born ~1825). Maria's descendants eventually aettled in Baltimore.
