Birth Record

Post by tomtst »

This record shows Emilio Catalucci as the person reporting the birth it shows his age as 33 but I can't read what it says after his age. "di anni trentatre ????????"

Following age in these records you will usually find the profession.
In this case it LOOKS LIKE "ballatore di seta" where "seta" means silk.

It could be "bollitore" = boiler; or a form of "ballatoio" = gallery.

If you find another child born to Emilio, it may be clearer in that record :-)

T

This is the record for his son Also it has the same notation for Emilio. I do know Emilio was a woodcarver, would that make sense?

The word is "Imballatore di seta" = "Silk packer"
