Tricolor Flag passage help

I need a little help with a passage I found about my ancestor, Hippolita Perez. It seems as if she was famous for making a flag. I am confused about the last part of the paragraph- I am wanting to know what it says about Teodosio. Who is his father? Thank you so much!!!!

From her own hands was woven the first tricolor flag of Sicily which she offered personally to Garibaldi..(can't understand) .... at the battle of Salemi. She wasn't able to save the life of a young bourbon officer the marques D'Afflitto ......

Can you help with the rest. I don't understand what happened. Is the officer the son of Teodosio?

In spite of her irredentist ideals she saved the life of a young bourbon officer the marques D'Afflitto from the people's reprisals, during the taking of Palermo. The marques later became the father in law of Teodosio.

I do hope that my post is not too out of date. The attached photo's were taken Sept 2008 in Santa Ninfa. The folks in the picture are the descendants of Mariano De Stefani and his wife Ippolita Perez.

My records show that Luisa Sorrentino D'Afflitto married Teodosio. Her father was the Marchese di Villalba e Sorrentino. Teodosio was my wife's g-grandfather.

Apologies just back online here!!! Glad you found the pics of interest. You also might be interested in a family heirloom that my wifes' cousin keeps stored away somewhere safely. I have taken photos of each page and its a wealth of information for the De Stefani/Di Stefano family. Its essentially a record of births/marriages/burials from around mid 16th century through to around 1930's. There are a lot of missing entries but.....
