Marriage of Gregorio Giaimo & Francesca Sottili 1730

Post by sacesta »

This one is a very difficult read. The ink is so faded that the document is almost illegible.

I was able to identify the record on the bottom right as the marriage record of my ancestors Gregorio Giaimo and Francesca Sottili. They were married in the chiesa San Giuliano Martire on the 30th of April 1730.

It appears to me that Gregorio's parents may be Paolo and Catarina, but I'm really not sure.

I also see the name Jacobus (Italian Giacomo, Giacobbe, or Jacopo?), whom I believe is probably Francesca's father. And there appears to be another name that may be Sebastiana - Francesca's mother?

I don't see surnames for either of the mother's, though I'm sure they are there.

But looking at Francesca's mother's name again it seems there is an abbreviation Ant.a before the name. So maybe her first name is Antonia and what looks to be Sebastiana is her maiden name. There appears to be a long empty blank space after Gregorio's mother's name.

Any help you can give me with this document is greatly appreciated.

Steve
